Summer-Haiku

Hi everyone on March 26th my class did a Summer Haiku. We learnt that Haiku's are basically Japanese poems that can only have 3 lines. The first line has 5 syllables, the second line has 7 syllables and lastly, the third line has 5 syllables just like the first one. It was really fun and since it was about Summer, in my opinion, it was even more fun to think about the sentences themselves! Here is my Summer Haiku, Adios!

  1. Kia ora Abid,

I enjoyed reading your blog post. I really like how you explained what a haiku is.
My favourite line " I wait for days to start". I think during this winter months I miss summer. Are you planning to share more of your poems?
I'm looking forward to reading some more.

  2. Nice work Abid! I was counting the syllables as I read the poem. It is not an easy skill to create a picture in a reader's mind especially with a limited amount of words. I love this poem. It really creates a warm summer day in my mind. Thanks for sharing it. Looking forward to reading more of your writing Abid.
